My name is Electra Johnson and I am the sole Democratic Candidate for County Commissioner in District 3 in El Paso County Colorado.

District 3 encompasses central and western El Paso County, Colorado. It is an incredibly diverse and beautiful area that includes Pikes Peak- Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Canyon, Downtown Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, The Westside, Green Mountain Falls, Palmer Lake, and Ute Pass. It is the least conservative area of El Paso County, yet it has not had a democratic Commissioner for 53 years. It is high time we were represented again.

It is time we had a Commissioner who actually understood Sustainable Infrastructure and Urban planning needs, including fostering local business and start up development, smart growth, stormwater infrastructure, land use, public space and stewardship of the natural environment. I have worked in the public and private sector translating human needs into built space for almost 20years. I have a Masters Degree in Urban Design, A Masters Degree in Architecture, A Bachelors of Science in Construction Management and Interior Design. My practice has also been one that focuses on community based regenerative infrastructure including; transit, waste management, sustainable building form, local sustainable agriculture, cogeneration, solar and wind energy, natural water treatment, civic infrastructure, local economic infrastructure, habitat and waterway restoration as well community restoration through memory (history), voice and equal access to quality Education, Our children are the future and we owe it to them to make things better.

There are no dollar limits to contributions to Colorado county commissioner elections.
State law prohibits corporations, labor unions, independent expenditure committees and issue committees from donating.
Contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited by law. State law requires that we collect and report name and address of each person contributing $20.00 or more, and the occupation and employer of each person contributing $100.00 or more, per election cycle.
